2. Google Ads conversion tracking and retargeting

As an AdWords customer, we use Google Conversion Tracking on some of our pages. This is an analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). This service enables Google AdWords to place a cookie on your computer (conversion cookie) if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies become invalid after 90 days and are not used for the purpose of personal identification.

If you visit certain pages on our website and the cookie is still valid, we and Google can recognise the fact that someone has clicked on the ad and has been forwarded to our website. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be traced back via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information retrieved via the conversion cookie is used to prepare conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have decided to make use of conversion tracking. AdWords customers are informed of the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and have thus been forwarded to a website which contains a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified.

If you do not want to participate in the tracking process, you can block the use of cookies which would be required for tracking, for example via a browser setting that universally disables the automatic use of cookies. You can also disable the cookies for conversion tracking by configuring your browser so that cookies from the domain ‘googleadservices.com‘ are blocked.

We use remarketing technology provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). With this technology, users who have already visited our Internet pages and online services and who have shown an interest in our offers are addressed again through targeted advertising on the pages of the Google Partner Network.

Advertising is displayed using cookies. These files allow the behaviour of users during their visit to the website to be analysed and can then be used to generate targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertising.

If you do not want to receive interest-based advertising, you can disable the use of cookies by Google for this purpose by visiting the following page: https://www.google.de/settings/ads. Alternatively, users can disable the use of cookies from third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page. Your browser’s do-not-track setting is also taken into consideration.

By using our offers, you consent to the processing of data obtained by Google about yourself as described above and for the above-mentioned purpose. Please note that Google has its own data protection policies, which are independent of our own. We do not assume any responsibility or liability for Google’s policies and procedures. Before you use our website, please find out more about the Google Privacy Policy.

3. Bing Universal Event Tracking

We use Bing Universal Event Tracking ("UET"), a service provided by Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond WA 98052-6399, USA ("Microsoft"). When you access our website via adverts provided by Bing Ads, a cookie is stored on your computer. In addition, a UET tag is integrated on our website. A UET tag is a code that is used together with the cookie to store pseudonymised data about use of the website. In combination with the cookie, the tag records pseudonymised data to track your activity on our website after you have clicked on an ad from Bing Ads. The recorded data includes the time spent on the website, which areas of the website you looked at and which ad brought you to the website. Microsoft can also use cross-device tracking to track your usage across multiple electronic devices. The data that is gathered is sent to a Microsoft server in the United States.

Bing Webmaster Tools: Bing Webmaster Tools from Microsoft stores cookies and "beacons" on your computer. Beacons, or tracking pixels, are small invisible graphics that can be used to register whether a website has been accessed.

The purposes of data processing: Bing Universal Event Tracking: UET enables us to track your activities on our website if you have accessed our website via ads from Bing Ads. This then enables us to improve our online offering. The cross-device tracking enables Microsoft to display personalised ads.

Bing Webmaster Tools: This tool enables Microsoft to provide its Bing services and to optimise search results.

Storage period and control options: Microsoft stores the data for a maximum period of 180 days. You can prevent your data from being recorded and processed by disabling the use of cookies. Please note that this may limit the functionality of certain websites. You can deactivate cross-device tracking using this link.

Further information about the Bing analytics services is available on the Bing Ads website. Further information about data protection at Microsoft and in Bing is available in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

The data collected is anonymous rather than personal; this means that we cannot trace it to a specific person. However, usage profiles are not linked to data on the individual to whom the pseudonym refers without the express permission of the visitor. IP addresses, in particular, are anonymised immediately upon collection, which means that usage profiles cannot be traced to individual IP addresses.
